I began my career as a designer working with textile specialist Christine Van Der Hurd in New York. Returning to the UK, I started in the publishing industry initially working at Condé Nast’s influential, World of Interiors, before taking the role of Style Director for Time Inc’s, Livingetc Magazine. Under my creative direction, I built a style team whose work inspired a global readership and was extensively syndicated worldwide to all major book and magazine publishers.
Over 20 years I worked at the forefront of the Interiors industry, creating award-winning interior schemes, working with clients including Conran, Benchmark, Liberty, Nest and Original BTC and became a leading voice on interiors trends and a regular speaker on design with a focus on sustainable design and modern living.
In 2020, inspired by my parents, who were both dedicated career educationalists, I followed my passion for design and retrained to become a Design Technology teacher. I currently teach at an inspiring secondary school and I firmly believe that an education in Design can empower young people to inspire positive social impact and build a sustainable, collective future.
